Treat all humans with respect, including players, officials, spectators, and rink staff.
Health and safety of all participants is always the primary consideration, well above winning. Allow an opponent to score if the alternative is a dangerous play.
Be inclusive without limits. Do not single out others for their differences.
Be understanding, not critical, of others’ imperfections. This includes players, officials, spectators, and rink staff. Humans make mistakes and have bad days.
Respect the decisions of officials and league organizers. Do not argue calls or decisions during a game.
Do not offer unsolicited advice. Coach only if asked.
Understand that hockey is a physical sport; stick and body contact and penalties do occur. When they occur, give the offender the benefit of the doubt as to intent. Do not escalate.
Report any noticed pattern of inappropriate behavior to your captain or a league organizer.
Return any issued equipment when asked, promptly and undamaged, or promptly pay the stated replacement cost ($30 for jerseys).
